Hardware

  • n. A male bee, especially a honeybee, that is characteristically stingless, performs no work, and produces no honey. Its only function is to mate with the queen bee.
  • n. An idle person who lives off others; a loafer.
  • n. A person who does tedious or menial work; a drudge.

I have received word that my chosen motorcycle, the CB500X, isn’t available from the company I inquired with. Major Bummer! I was really looking forward to giving that a go.

I’ve been offered a similar option; the Suzuki V-Strom 650. Meh. I’ll think about it…

Regardless, that’s not what this post is about. It’s about the other hardware. The even cooler stuff.

Also a drone:

A Mavic Air.

4K deliciousness on a 3 axis gimbal that performed admirably in the gusty winds around Runaway Bay today. I can’t wait to explore some fun angles with this thing!

Let’s be clear – The challenge with this purchase begins once I return from the trip. It’ll be awesome for the duration, but will it sit in a cupboard and waste away once I’m back?

I’ll also have a Sony FDR-X3000 action camera on hand for some video on the road and a new iPhone 11 Pro for some stationary shots.

If you have any suggestions for nice places to take photos while in NZ, let me know!
