28 days before departure.
The plan is, there is no plan. I have 18 days to explore the South Island of New Zealand by motorcycle and I don’t intend to stick to a rigid itinerary.
I’m still working on a route, so I will update this post as it comes togther.
Here’s a list of the things that people have told me to explore so far, in no particular order:
- Milford Sound
- Lake Tekapo
- Dunedin
- Mt Sunday
- Skipper’s Canyon – Research is necessary on whether insurance covers travel on Skipper’s Canyon Road
- Deer Park Heights
- Twizel
- Kepler Mire
- Fiordland
- Mavora Lakes
- Curio/Porpoise Bay
- Stargazing around Otago
- Lake Pukaki
- Wanaka
- Glenorchy
- Clutha River
- Fruitlands
- Kaikoura Ranges
- Picton
- Various museums, libraries and other sights to be seen at these locations and more.
Please leave me a comment if I’ve left out anything you love about the South Island of New Zealand. I’ll do my best to work in as many sights and experiences as I can along the way.
